Patitinan White Beach — The Hidden Sanctuary

For the summer of 2018, I set off to visit a white beach in my province—Camarines Sur. I invited my best friends to visit the hidden sanctuary that is Patitinan White Beach. Besides its white sand, it also offers clear waters and a close proximity to another gem—Atulayan Island—which is just one boat ride away.

The Place

Patitinan White Beach Resort is found in Sagñay—a 4th class municipality in the province of Camarines Sur. The entrance of this resort is beside the main road where a Patitinan signage will welcome you, along with its caretakers. At the entrance, you will be asked to pay for the cottage or the tree house that you will be renting for the day, depending on your plan at the beach.

Prices:

Entrance Fee – PHP10.00
Cottage –
PHP150.00 (1-day rent)
Treehouse – PHP1,500.00 (Overnight)

Tip: If you’re planning to stay at the beach for a few hours, you can just rent a cottage. If you will be planning to stay overnight, you can pay for a treehouse but you can also bring your own tent and camping materials.

After the payment, one of the caretakers will assist you with your belongings and accommodate you along the mountain trek that will take about 10 to 15 minutes. However, this can increase if you choose to pause at the rest areas situated along the trek route. After taking the last step, you will be welcomed by the beautiful view of the beach that features Atulayan Island. Alongside the sands of the beach is where the cottages and tree houses are situated, as well as beautiful rock formations and lush green plants.

This beach is a hidden sanctuary where you can relax and do some fun activities with your friends and family. Sit by the shore, admire the beautiful 360-degree view, swim, and get ready to take a lot of photos for you to share on your social media accounts!

Tip: Only bring the necessities. Since you will be trekking down and up the mountain, it will be a real challenge to bring a lot. Bring your own food and beverages, and always stay hydrated.

How to get there

If you’re from Naga City, go the van terminal near SM City Naga. You can look for a van bound for Sagñay, Partido. If you own a private car, you can travel to Patitinan via Gov Jose T. Fuentabella National Highway and Bicol 630. The trip is estimated to be around 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.

On A Final Note

Patitinan White Beach is one of the many white-sand beaches in the province of Camarines Sur. The trek to get to the beach might be a challenge but it sure is a beautiful sanctuary worth the effort.
